Problem:

Continued extraction and refinement of raw materials from the earth is energy intensive, destructive of air quality, water quality, and habitat and ultimately unsustainable. Today's standard forestry and agricultural practices are also reliant on depleting fossil fuels and are destructive of soil resources as well as air quality, water quality, and habitat.
